1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Kirin Mastering (operated by Daisuke Nishio) handles information in connection with kirinmastering.com and the Kirin software products: Kirin Hypha, Kirin Sense, and Kirin OS.

2. Payment and purchase data
All payment processing is handled entirely by LemonSqueezy. Kirin Mastering does not receive, store, or process payment card numbers, billing addresses, or other financial information directly.
LemonSqueezy acts as the Merchant of Record for each transaction. In this capacity, LemonSqueezy collects and processes the information necessary for tax compliance, including your location and applicable tax identifiers.
As a result of a completed purchase, Kirin Mastering may receive from LemonSqueezy: your name, email address, and country of purchase. This information is used solely for order management and license support. It is not shared with third parties or used for marketing purposes.

3. License authentication
When you activate Kirin Sense or Kirin OS, the application transmits the following to LemonSqueezy's license verification API:
- Your license key (as entered by you)
- A device identifier (instance name)
This data is sent for the purpose of preventing unauthorized use and managing the 5-device activation limit. This constitutes a transfer of data to LemonSqueezy, a third-party service.
4. Application data (Kirin Sense / Kirin OS)
All measurement data and project data created within Kirin Sense and Kirin OS are stored locally on your device in .kirin files. At the present time, no application data is uploaded to remote servers by Kirin Mastering.
If you choose to share .kirin files with others, you are responsible for the content of those files and any personal or copyrighted material they may contain.
5. Kirin Hypha (plugin)
Kirin Hypha is a fully local, open-source application. At the present time, Kirin Hypha does not collect, transmit, or process any data beyond what takes place on your local machine.
6. License fulfillment
After a successful purchase, LemonSqueezy automatically delivers your license key to the email address associated with your purchase. Kirin Mastering does not intervene manually in this fulfillment process. The issuance and management of license keys is handled by LemonSqueezy's systems.
7. Website (kirinmastering.com)
This website is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect server access logs for infrastructure and security purposes. For details on Vercel's data handling, see: https://vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
At the present time, Kirin Mastering does not operate any user analytics, behavioral tracking, or marketing scripts on this website.

8. User content and intellectual property
Kirin Sense and Kirin OS are tools that process audio files and generate measurement data. The copyright and intellectual property rights of any audio or other content you process using these tools remain with you. Kirin Mastering claims no rights over your content.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of these tools complies with applicable laws, including copyright law.
9. Data retention and deletion
License authentication data held by LemonSqueezy can be requested for deletion directly through LemonSqueezy's services.
Local application data (.kirin files and project data on your device) can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the application or removing the files manually.

10. Your rights (EU/EEA residents — GDPR)
If you reside in the European Union or the European Economic Area, you have the following rights regarding your personal data held by Kirin Mastering:
- Right of access — You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to erasure — You may request deletion of your personal data where legally applicable.
- Right to restriction of processing — You may request that processing of your data be limited in certain circumstances.
Kirin Mastering processes personal data in line with the principle of data minimization under GDPR.
As a sole proprietorship of limited scale, a dedicated Data Protection Officer (DPO) has not been appointed.
